Product Development Engineer

Mountville Mills, Inc. is the leading supplier of commercial floor mats worldwide. The Product Development Engineer is responsible for working with the Research and Development team to explore new product areas and enhance existing products across various divisions.

Responsibilities

Helps direct all “new product” projects through the DRIVE innovation process model
Solve complex problems, by exercising critical thought, analyzing appropriate data and driving potential recommended paths forward with a creative and open-minded approach
Embraces hands on approach to managing all prototyping and testing associated with new product trials including
Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings
Research growing trends in all market segments of the Mountville family of businesses
Monitor research as well as the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class
Works to maintain high level of knowledge of all current and potential raw materials relevant to our market segments
Travels to industry trade shows to identify new technologies, raw materials or any other components that can enhance an existing product or propel the launch of a new product
Communicates with existing and potential vendors that are necessary to enhance or launch a new product
Improving our R&D organizational performance by continually developing subject matter expertise and coaching/educating our technical community
Coordinates with appropriate marketing personnel to ensure a successful product launch

Required

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University
Education/background with an emphasis in Engineering is a plus
Project management experience
Ability to build relationships across multiple business areas and levels
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Creative thinker with engineering fundamentals
Enjoys hands-on manufacturing environments
