This role involves managing the product backlog, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with data governance and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of enterprise metadata capabilities that enable data governance, lineage, and cataloging across the organization
Partner with business stakeholders, data governance teams, and technology delivery squads to ensure the system meets compliance, usability, and scalability requirements
Manage the product backlog, define user stories, and prioritize features to deliver maximum business value aligned with the enterprise data strategy
Own the product roadmap for the Metadata Management System, ensure alignment with enterprise data governance and regulatory requirements
Define and prioritize the product backlog, write clear and actionable user stories with acceptance criteria
Collaborate with stakeholders (business, data governance, technology) to gather requirements and translate them into technical deliverables
Drive Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews) and ensure timely delivery of features
Monitor product performance and adoption, using KPIs and metrics to measure success and inform future enhancements
Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards
Act as subject matter expert for metadata management concepts, tools, and best practices
Partner with architecture and engineering teams to ensure scalability, integration, and technical feasibility of solutions
Communicate progress and risks to leadership and stakeholders through regular updates and reporting
Qualification
Required
College graduate in Computer Science or related field
5+ years of experience in Product Ownership or Product Management within data platforms or enterprise systems
Strong understanding of metadata management concepts (data cataloging, lineage, governance)
Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables and prioritize based on business value
Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or SAFe) and backlog management tools (e.g., Jira)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to collaborate across business and technology teams
Knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards
Certified PO/PM
Preferred
Familiarity with metadata management tools (Collibra, Informatica)
Experience in data architecture, data modeling, or data governance frameworks
Background in financial services or other regulated industries
Understanding of cloud-based data platforms and integration patterns
Ability to develop KPIs and success metrics for metadata initiatives
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business outcomes
