They are seeking a Senior Cardio Catheterization Technician to assist physicians in performing complex invasive cardiac catheterization procedures and surgeries, as well as preparing patients and ensuring equipment functionality.

Responsibilities

Inserts small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and into the heart so that x-rays, angiograms, and other recordings can be taken to determine the heart's structure and function

Ensures the EKG equipment is in good working order. Monitors the EKG readouts and keeps the doctor apprised of anything considered abnormal. Positions patients and explains procedures

Prepares the patients for the procedure by cleaning, shaving, and anesthetizing the area of insertion

Assists physicians during open-heart surgery and with the insertion of pacemakers or stents. Performs quality control functions

Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets

Required

Associate degree or equivalent

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail

Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary
