The University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem - Part Time Research Assistant 1 in the Public Health Sciences Department. The Research Assistant 1 contributes to research investigators by providing research and experimentation support while following established protocols.

Responsibilities

Sets up and operates various scientific apparatus and makes minor repairs
Prepares correspondence and answers phones
Formulates and maintains bibliographies and completes applications and forms
Orders laboratory supplies and maintains culture media reagents
Reviews and edits various materials for publication and prepares publication schedules
Maintains appropriate logs, records, and study notebooks
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets
Organizes and maintains a system for monitoring of subjects enrolled on longitudinal studies and assures collection of data in a timely manner
Prepares and organizes data to promote efficient computer entry
Demonstrates knowledge of Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, IRB review, reporting requirements and regulatory affairs
Oversees schedule and follows-up on progress in patient’s chart and performs retrospective chart reviews
Participates in the consent process as guided by institutional policy and assists with the development of the consent forms
Communicates with internal and/or external regulatory oversight entities (e.g. IRB, NIH)
Participates in the development of protocol roadmaps or flow sheets and may participate in the completion of reports and forms

Required

Undergraduate Degree related to Public Health preferable
Minimum 1 Year Of Relevant Experience
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary

Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment
