Responsibilities
Load box vans and curtain side trucks with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring trucks maintain legal weights
Unload ingredients from box vans, curtain vans and flatbed trucks, inspecting all ingredients for food safety and quality
Inspect finished goods and ingredients for quality and food safety prior to loading/unloading
Check in all ingredients, ensuring accuracy against the Bill of Lading
Accurately complete all documentation
Rotate all ingredients and finished goods as per first in, first out procedures
Demonstrate friendliness towards customers and co-workers
Fill customer orders as identified on the loading slips
Control ingredient and packaging inventory and relay minimum stocking for production needs
Safely operate forklift in all weather types
Maintain clean and organized warehousing of ingredients, packaging and finished goods in multiple locations
Stage and maintain adequate inventory of ingredients and packaging in the production area for production use
Assist in production activities such as bagging, sowing, wrapping pallets, stacking bags and pulling of products for staging
Interpreting production schedules and ensuring all ingredients and packaging are available for use
Ensure adequate warehouse space for finished goods being produced daily
Clean, sweep, and shovel debris from loading dock and warehouses as necessary to maintain a clean environment
Conduct deliveries to customers as needed
Perform daily inspections of all vehicles and forklifts on location
Monitor and maintain pest control
Uphold all cooperative policies
Perform other tasks and duties as required by supervising manager
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to become forklift certified
