Engineering Technician II-China Lake

Arcata Associates, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician II who provides support to the engineering and design staff. The role involves installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various electronic and mechanical equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

Install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at company and client sites
Perform and assist with tests and evaluations, check-out, and certification tasks
Perform validations and verifications of various electronic systems
Review engineering change proposals for equipment impacts
Assist in creating engineering change instructions
Develop technical/engineering data for planned maintenance systems, technical drawing updates, operating procedures, and maintainability improvements
Support systems engineering activities with general subject matter knowledge
Establish and maintain filing systems, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory
Assist work unit personnel as the on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks
Provide technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements
Use established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence
Perform other job-related duties, as required

Required

Vocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution, or equivalent military training
3 years of job-related experience or equivalent hands-on experience
Qualify for and maintain a government security clearance
Must have a valid, current CA driver's license
Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
Good communication and analytical skills
Planning/organizational skills
Ability to work under deadlines
