Lead Engineer Mechanical
WCL Group is a global leader in design, engineering, and delivery of facilities for high-tech industries. They are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive construction documents for critical systems in high technology facilities, including HVAC and plumbing.

Responsibilities
Performs engineering tasks for the design of utilities and HVAC (wet/dry) systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, pharmaceutical manufacturing/process facilities, and life science facilities
Prepares mechanical engineering calculations in support of HVAC systems design including heat load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water hydraulics, static pressure calculations, equipment sizing and selection
Plans and schedules discipline deliverables and activities, including man-hour estimation, assigning personnel, and supervision of discipline personnel on the Projects
Supports project on-site execution and makes decisions to support projects, and acts as technical consultant
Develops manpower and labor cost requirements for a project and monitor them to aid in evaluating project schedule and budget
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work by discipline team
Develops of conceptual design, preliminary design, and final design documents, which would include calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems, the development of Process and Instrumentation
Diagrams, general arrangements, and sequences of operation associated with these systems
Works closely in coordination with the project team and other disciplines, as well as other design offices
Coordinates with disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables, and ensuring those other disciplines’ inputs are incorporated

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required
8+ years of experience
Autodesk Building Systems Software
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record
Thorough knowledge of codes and common industry standards related to the design of biologics and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and systems
Consulting engineering experience
Experience working within a team environment
Experience in the quality control review process
Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes
