Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Large Animal Surgery

Responsibilities
Engaged in the College’s educational, research and service activities
Clinical and didactic teaching in the equine medicine and surgery course and equine laboratories
Promote LIU-CVM’s overall mission of enhancing veterinary medical education through a commitment to teaching, academic excellence, and service to a variety of stakeholders
Active engagement in curriculum development
Identification or creation of innovative learning resources
Committee service participation (such as admissions, curriculum, research, etc.)
Develop independent or collaborative research in the field of Large Animal Surgery within and outside LIU
Work with LIU-CVM partners/affiliate veterinary hospitals
Qualification
Required
DVM or equivalent degree
expertise in large animal surgery/equine surgery
proven ability to promote a culture of diversity, equity and inclusiveness
ability to interact well with University administration, the veterinary education community, faculty, students, and alumni
Preferred
Specialty board certification/eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS LA) or equivalent
Advanced training in large animal/equine surgery and or large animal surgery/equine surgery research with an MS or PhD
working knowledge of curricular design and implementation
