Wildland Fire & Resource Tech 2 - Experienced Hotshot Firefighter - PIONEER PEAK (PCN 10-N17038-50)
NEOGOV is recruiting for multiple Wildland Fire & Resource Technician 2 positions in Palmer, Alaska, to serve as Experienced Hotshot Firefighters on the PIONEER PEAK IHC. The role involves supporting fire management services and all-hazard responses, requiring physical labor and teamwork in challenging environments.

Responsibilities
Digging hand line, operating power saws, and water pumps
Maintaining fire gear readiness and working on hazard fuels mitigation projects
Work may entail piling limbs and slash, assisting in burn operations, and climbing and pruning trees
Position may operate chainsaws under the direct supervision of higher-level positions
Other duties include maintenance of personal gear and equipment (nozzles, hoses, chainsaws, tools, and personal gear)
Qualification
Required
Six months of trainee or entry level wildland fire fighting or forestry field experience
Red Card qualification under the National Incident Qualification System
Applicant must be at least eighteen years of age
Applicant must be able to pass the Work Capacity Test at the 'Arduous' level
Applicant must possess an Alaska driver's license
Positions may require travel both in and out-of-state for fire suppression assignments
Some positions may require a commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements
Proof of FFT2 qualification via Red Card or IQCS/IQS Master Record
