Responsibilities

Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex integration issues involving APIs, XML, NACHA files, and data synchronization across disparate systems when standard approaches have failed
Serve as final escalation point for unresolved technical issues passed from Tier I and Tier II support, often under time-critical conditions with significant business impact
Design, implement, and configure robust integrations with financial institution core systems that handle millions of transactions monthly without error
Act as technical liaison for strategic financial institution partnerships, providing consultative expertise on API capabilities, integration architecture, and implementation approaches that maintain compliance while meeting business objectives
Provide white-glove onboarding support for new enterprise partners, ensuring seamless technical integration that establishes a foundation for long-term partnership success
Architect and manage secure peer-to-peer VPN tunnels and network routing rules that satisfy the stringent security requirements of financial institutions while enabling reliable connectivity
Oversee critical inbound and outbound SFTP-based file transfers that facilitate daily ACH processing and settlement functions
Lead cross-functional investigations to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex payment reconciliation discrepancies and data mismatches that could impact settlement accuracy
Collaborate with external payment processors including TSYS, Global Payments, and First Data to address integration challenges, settlement issues, and processing anomalies
Architect and implement client-specific fee structures in coordination with payment processor platforms, ensuring accurate revenue attribution and compliance with agreements
Maintain unwavering compliance with SOC 2, PCI-DSS, and NACHA standards for payment processing and data exchange, ensuring our platform exceeds industry security benchmarks
Serve as the primary technical relationship owner for our most strategic enterprise clients and partners, building trust through proactive communication and swift issue resolution
Leverage comprehensive knowledge of banking and credit union terminology, workflows, and procedures to translate between technical concepts and business impacts when communicating with stakeholders
Contribute strategic insights to product roadmap discussions based on client feedback and market trends, helping shape the future of LenderPay's integration capabilities
Configure and troubleshoot merchant account setups for specialized business types, with particular focus on optimizing fee structures for financial institutions (MCC 6012) and real estate management companies (MCC 6513)
Advise clients on card brand convenience fee compliance and regulations, ensuring their implementation strategies maintain adherence to Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover network rules

Required

5+ years of experience in financial services payment processing, with demonstrated expertise in NACHA rules, SOC 2 requirements, PCI-DSS compliance, and related regulatory frameworks
Proven track record troubleshooting complex SaaS API and XML-based system integrations in high-volume, high-reliability environments where downtime is not an option
Extensive experience supporting enterprise clients through API onboarding, technical walkthroughs, and implementation processes that result in successful, long-term integrations
Advanced knowledge of secure network configurations, including VPN tunnel setup, network routing, and SFTP file transfer protocols specifically for financial data exchange
Exceptional account management and client relationship skills, with the ability to establish credibility with technical and business stakeholders at financial institutions
Comprehensive understanding of banking and credit union operations, terminology, and processes, including the nuances of accounts, loans, shares, and settlement procedures
Demonstrated success coordinating with external payment processors to diagnose and resolve complex integration challenges and fee structure implementations
Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a methodical, detail-oriented approach to complex technical investigations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences and maintain composure in high-pressure situations
Advanced experience analyzing REST APIs, SAML integrations, and troubleshooting web service integrations in payment processing environments
Deep understanding of card interchange fee structures, particularly for specialized merchant categories such as financial institutions (MCC 6012) and real estate management companies (MCC 6513), with ability to optimize fee structures based on transaction types and volumes
Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. payment networks and funds flow mechanics, including settlement timing, availability schedules, and routing requirements across ACH, wire, RTP, and card networks
Experience with merchant processing configurations, including terminal setup, payment gateway integrations, tokenization services, and fraud prevention measures for specialized business types
Thorough knowledge of card brand (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) convenience fee rules, surcharge regulations, and compliance requirements, including jurisdictional variations and implementation guidelines for financial institutions
Extensive knowledge of ACH Rules, including Same Day ACH requirements, return code handling, exception processing, and the implementation of risk management frameworks for ACH origination and receipt
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
