The Campaign Against Hunger is seeking an IRS-Certified Tax Preparer responsible for preparing accurate federal, state, and local tax returns in compliance with IRS regulations. This role provides professional tax preparation services to individuals and families during the tax season, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

Prepare federal and state income tax returns using IRSapproved tax preparation software

Review completed intake forms and supporting documentation provided by intake staff

Accurately enter taxpayer information, income, deductions, and credits

Ensure compliance with IRS tax law, VITA scope limitations, and program guidelines

Address taxrelated questions from clients as needed, within the scope of the preparer role

Correct errors identified during quality review prior to submission

Maintain accurate and complete electronic tax records

Protect taxpayer confidentiality and comply with IRS data security standards

Stay current with IRS tax law updates and VITA certification requirements
