This role involves the design, analysis, and development of mission Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) to ensure mission success through effective autonomy and fault management strategies.

Responsibilities

Perform fault and autonomy requirements definition, verification, and validation
Define satellite and constellation states, modes, transitions, and autonomous spacecraft behaviors
Contribute to architecture concepts, CONOPS, and technology trade-off analyses
Design and validate onboard fault detection, isolation, and response strategies
Perform end-to-end validation of autonomy products and behaviors
Provide tools and procedures to support on-orbit mission operations
Support on-console mission operations as a mission specialist
Serve as the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for autonomy on programs, studies, or proposals
Support project execution activities to ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on schedule

Required

2+ years of experience in satellite design and/or operation
Familiarity with analysis tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python, STK, or similar
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to debug complex problems with minimal guidance
Ability to anticipate system-level effects and interactions across complex architectures
Strong attention to detail while maintaining a systems-level perspective
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post start is required

Preferred

5+ years of experience in satellite design and/or operation
Experience with fault management strategies and architectures for mission-critical systems
Experience with autonomous system design and analysis
Ability to plan and execute integrated fault management and autonomy verification and validation
Experience with satellite end-to-end testing
Active TS/SCI clearance
