Geotechnical Staff Engineer - Ashland, VA

As a Geotechnical Staff Engineer in our Ashland, VA office, you will work collaboratively with various departments and assist with a wide variety of projects for public and private sector clients.
Consulting
Responsibilities
Test boring/test pit observations
Laboratory analysis
Preparation of geotechnical reports/calculation
Management of field staff
Review of daily field reports
Performance of on-site construction materials testing services
Qualification
Required
BS in Civil Engineering or closely related field
A valid driver's license/ satisfactory driving record accompanied with a reliable vehicle
Ability to meet pre-employment requirements
The ability to (occasionally) work nights, weekends, and travel overnight
To move up to 60-80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, etc)
Familiarity with engineering and construction plans/specifications
Preferred
Prior experience with subsurface exploration or construction inspection a plus
EIT working toward PE preferred
Familiarity with geotechnical software (i.e., GeoSystems, Gint, L-Pile, MSEW, etc.) a plus
