CNC Lathe Machinist (I-IV)

RTC Aerospace is a 60-year-old aerospace manufacturer of complex, high-tolerance, difficult-to-machine parts. They are seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist who will perform complex machining of parts and tools, ensuring high-quality work with minimal supervision while maintaining safety and efficiency in the machine shop.

Responsibilities

Without technical supervision, performs the most complex machining of parts and tools, typically on one or more machines, and can be relied upon to handle the one-of-a-kind, most difficult assignments
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and informs lead person of discrepancies
Thoroughly inspects first part run
Meets job standard times with minimal supervision
Recognizes production problems and informs supervisor
Understanding of basic machine language (G and M codes)
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications using standard measuring tools
Reads and interprets manufacturing / Engineering drawings
Maintains a track record of high-quality work with low rework and scrap history
Maintains high efficiencies and run rates for given machine
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required
Performs miscellaneous duties in the machine shop as directed
Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of equipment and procedures

Required

Available to work a full-time position with pre-determined shift times
Minimum of 4 years related experience, training, licenses/certification or demonstrated ability to perform described position responsibilities
Understands and comprehends all forms of technical documents including blueprints and drawings, written specifications, charts, tables, etc
Works independently, follows instructions, can concentrate for long periods of time
Demonstrates a good attitude toward work and arrives on time for start of shift
Properly uses basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometer, indicators, etc.)
Follows instructions and demonstrates strong attention to detail
Communicates well verbally and in writing
Mechanically inclined, with good manual dexterity
Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs
Reach forward, up, down and to the side in order to move equipment
Continuous standing and walking throughout the workday
Ability to reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material
Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a 'US Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required
