Responsibilities
Manage and oversee human resources services for assigned division(s), department(s), or school(s)
Serve as a strategic advisor and primary point of contact for HR matters across employment, compensation, employee relations, organizational planning, and training
Provide consultative guidance to supervisors and managers on performance management, employee relations, and corrective action, in collaboration with Talent Performance & Relations
Interpret and ensure compliance with institutional HR policies, federal and state employment laws, and best practices
Partner with HR Central, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, and Records Administration to support hiring, onboarding, and retention initiatives
Support the development and implementation of departmental and institutional HR policies and procedures
Promote UAB’s values of Collaboration, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence in all interactions
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field is required
Seven (7) years of related human resources experience
Work experience may not substitute for the required education
Preferred
Strong analytical and communication skills
Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability
Proven experience in employee relations, performance management, and organizational development
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills
Clinical Research experience preferred
