Responsibilities

Proactively manage and monitor the patch level of physical and virtual servers and networks to ensure proper operation
Recommending and implementing patches and updates to mitigate vulnerabilities and maintain compliance
Managing patch levels
Recommending and deploying patches
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess patch impacts and schedule deployments
Generating reports on patch status, coverage rates, and remediation timelines
Contributing to knowledge bases on best practices for proactive patch management in hybrid environments

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of experience in patch management and server administration, with hands-on expertise proactively monitoring and updating physical/virtual servers and networks in government or large enterprise settings
Proven track record recommending and implementing patches to ensure operational security and compliance
Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
Strong knowledge of federal IT standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA) and ITIL practices for service operations and change management
Proficiency in patch management tools (e.g., Microsoft SCCM, Red Hat Satellite) and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills for high-stakes vulnerability remediation
Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness

Preferred

Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification
Experience supporting DoD or large federal patch management programs, including automated deployment in hybrid cloud setups
ITIL 4 Foundation or higher certification, with focus on continual improvement
Background in scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus)
Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+)
