Seasonal Summer Camp Aide

The City of Louisville is seeking a Seasonal Summer Camp Aide to lead and inspire youth during the summer camp program. The role involves supervising activities, creating a welcoming environment, and building positive relationships with campers and staff.

Responsibilities

Assist in leading scheduled daily activities for up to 60 elementary aged campers, creating an engaging and inclusive environment where every camper has an opportunity to feel connected and has an unforgettable summer
Build positive relationships with campers, families, and staff, becoming a trusted leader and role model
Join the fun by actively participating in games, crafts, swimming, field trips, and more
Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment by maintaining facilities, equipment, and supplies
Support fellow staff members with a collaborative, team-first attitude
Assist with schedules and supplies to keep camp running smoothly behind the scenes. Ensure camp is abiding by all Child Care Licensing and Health Department regulations
Address and resolve camper concerns quickly to ensure everyone’s experience is positive
Administer First Aid
Handle setup and takedown of camp equipment each day, ensuring a smooth transition for campers
Consistent attendance and engagement are key to success
Adapt as Needed: To ensure each day is the BEST!

Required

Minimum sixteen (16) years of age by first day of Summer Day Camp on June 1, 2026
Highly motivated and capable of anticipating needs of the campers, the program and effectively solving problems
Communicates clearly with co-workers, and children
Demonstrates leadership and exercises excellent judgment
Professional attitude, equally matched with enthusiasm and energy
Ability to utilize positive guidance strategies with the campers
Ability to swim in deep water
Consistent attendance and engagement are key to success
Ability to handle setup and takedown of camp equipment each day
Ability to administer First Aid
Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment

4 Day Work Week, Monday-Thursday
