Patient Financial Services Educator
Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive services to the community. The Patient Financial Services Educator is responsible for designing and implementing education programs for team members, ensuring proper training and understanding of Revenue Cycle processes, and maintaining quality customer service.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, implement, and evaluate education programs for team members regarding current processes, patient accounting best practices, technology changes, and quality improvement opportunities
Coordinate orientation for all new employees within their defined area
Provide training on the various systems used within PFS and processes directly related to their role
Ensure validation of competency and skill set upon completion of training
Collaborate with Revenue Cycle leadership to ensure proper training is provided to employees
Relay material effectively and train employees to ensure understanding of Revenue Cycle processes, departmental goals, and regulatory requirements
Ensure quality customer service is provided, assist in audits and departmental goals, and complete QA for staff on an ongoing basis
Provide consistent communication to leadership regarding issues, staff development, and areas for further training
Keep up with payer and regulatory proposed and final changes to provide education and information to the department
Oversee the career ladder for eligible employees to ensure classes are correctly assigned relative to their career ladder phase
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years' revenue cycle experience or patient financial services
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software
Strong team leadership skills
Strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills
Must be able to meet strict deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Excellent organizational skills
Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to remain calm in difficult situations
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficient computer skills
Proven track record of successful performance
Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
Knowledge of payer and governmental regulatory requirements, coding rules and reimbursement methodologies
