Responsibilities
Assists in basic to mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting
Assists with basic repairs, preventative maintenance, and replacements in assigned specific classification
Operates with basic tooling
May work with others in an apprentice-style environment
Assists in minor trailer repairs; repairs / replaces lights and interior plywood; adjusts brakes, repairs air leaks, repairs scuff liner
Performs basic welding
Repairs / replaces wheels and tires
Performs preventative maintenance
Performs trailer lubrication as needed
Performs all safety-sensitive trailer repairs with Trainer or Foreman
Qualification
Required
high school diploma and related training or experience
0+ years of mechanical experience (any is a plus)
A skilled level of welding
Familiarity with general preventative maintenance and safety procedures
Skills to use fabricating tools
Electrical skills (shorts / repair diagnosis)
Ability to obtain a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License within 6 months
Ability to read schematic diagrams
Work in a team environment
Lift 100 lbs and carry a distance of 5 ft
Work sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and in a prone position
Work with hands over head
Climb; work from a ladder
Begin actively pursuing the required certification for next Technician level
Possess / maintain required tools
Obtain CDL within 6 months of job start
Obtain DOT certification within 1 year of job start
