Automation Mechanical Technician - 1st and 2nd Shift

The Automation Mechanical Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing automated machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities
Inspect automated machinery, equipment, and systems to identify issues and ensure functionality
Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment
Ability to prioritize and self-schedule maintenance work around production activities
Ensure quality standards are always met
Assist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of automated systems according to specifications
Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues
Conduct routine maintenance and quality checks on automated systems to uphold standards
Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures
Assist in planning and scheduling repairs and maintenance tasks
Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies
Adhere to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), safety standards and policies to maintain a safe working environment
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required
Strong knowledge of automation systems, including process control, instrumentation, and servo-driven systems with ladder logic
Proficiency in calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment
Ability to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks effectively around production activities
Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand and power tools for maintenance and repairs
Excellent problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail, especially in ensuring quality standards
Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with team members
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Familiarity with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in automation and mechanical systems
A minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in automation and mechanical systems required
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 75 pounds
Comfortable working in environments with exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold and other industrial elements
Ability to work in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures and humidity levels
Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings
Must be able to stand, walk, bend over, and pick up items and have constant movement for the duration of the shift
Must be able to lift, push, kneel, and pick up items, both small and large
Capability to operate heavy machinery such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely and efficiently
Preferred
Vocational/Trade training or an Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Experience with preventative maintenance programs and automation troubleshooting
