DATA SCIENTIST ASSOCIATE

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist Associate to support clinical and translational research initiatives focused on kidney disease. This role will manage, analyze and visualize complex datasets, contributing to impactful research that improves patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Manage, analyze and visualize complex datasets in clinical and translational research
Design, develop and evaluate models and algorithms using advanced data analysis tools
Generate and test hypothesis and analyze experiment results and assist in documentation
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Master's degree in a related field OR Bachelor's degree in related field and two (2) years of related experience. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement

Preferred

MS degree in data science
Experience with data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL or SAS
Familiarity with healthcare data, clinical research or biomedical informatics
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge of data visualization tools
