Full Charge Bookkeeper

ORBIS Compliance LLC is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the company’s entire accounting process. This role involves handling all bookkeeping functions independently, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with regulations, and timely reporting to management and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Record all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank transactions, credit card activity, and journal entries
Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
Process vendor bills, issue payments, and manage vendor relations
Prepare and send customer invoices; track and collect outstanding receivables
Manage payroll processing (in-house or through a payroll provider)
Reconcile all bank, credit card, and loan accounts
Prepare month-end closing entries and financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow)
Maintain depreciation schedules and prepaid expense allocations
Prepare sales tax, use tax, and other required filings
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Coordinate with CPA for annual tax filings and audits
Provide complete, clean year-end financial packages
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
Maintain organized digital and physical financial records
Monitor and improve financial processes and bookkeeping systems
Support management with custom reports and financial analysis
Handle HR-related tasks (benefit tracking, onboarding paperwork), depending on the company’s needs

Required

Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar accounting role
Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger structure
Advanced proficiency in bookkeeping/accounting software (QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Xero, or equivalent)
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience preparing financial statements and working directly with CPA firms
Industry-specific experience (e.g., construction job costing, nonprofit fund accounting, retail inventory, etc.)
