Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues using specialized tools and test equipment
Use standard agency imaging tools to deploy and configure workstations with approved software
Ensure systems are properly set up for end-user productivity and compliance
Maintain and update operating systems to align with current agency standards and security protocols
Deliver clear, effective training and guidance to both technical and non-technical users
Coordinate with peers across regions to deliver consistent, high-quality IT support; share knowledge and best practices to improve service delivery agency wide
Perform IT procurement for hardware, software, goods, and services; manage IT product and asset records by entering, tracking, auditing, updating, and reporting using agency service management software
Conduct periodic physical inventories and reconcile discrepancies in service management systems
Ensure compliance with agency and state-level IT acquisition and asset management policies
Install, configure, and maintain peripheral devices such as printers, monitors, docking stations, webcams, scanners, and external storage; troubleshoot and resolve hardware compatibility and connectivity issues

Required

Demonstrated experience and the ability to provide professional IT support with a focus on workstation hardware, operating systems, and end-user software, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of computing devices and peripherals
Ability to gather and analyze problem symptoms, determine root causes, apply effective solutions, and accurately document and report outcomes using established processes and systems
Ability to deploy workstations, mobile devices, peripherals, and software to end users while supporting inventory tracking, audits, and software licensing compliance
Ability to create and deliver clear, concise training and instructions for operating computer hardware, software, and systems to individuals and groups
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, meet established timelines, adapt support and training approaches to user needs, and reliably support operational requirements
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with supervisors, peers, other departments, external agencies, and the public in a professional, timely, and respectful manner using plain language
Proven ability and experience communicating effectively and providing technical assistance to diverse customers with varying levels of technical aptitude
Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, standard Adobe products, and Apple iPad/iOS and other mobile devices, including the ability to install, support, and troubleshoot hardware, peripherals, applications, and operating systems
Actively demonstrates a commitment to learning and growth
Takes action to meet the needs of others
Ability to maneuver and transport various materials and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
A valid driver's license and the ability to operate state-owned vehicles

Preferred

Foundational knowledge in IT solutions to understand full scope IT practices and principles, typically obtained by professional certifications (such as COMP TIA A+, ITIL V4 Foundation Certification, Microsoft Certifications, etc.) and/or formal education in information technology
