Responsibilities
Execute strategic communication plans to promote Amtrak's products, services, and business objectives through earned and shared coverage
Produce diverse written content including news releases, employee messages, and social media communications
Conduct media relations activities, acting as a spokesperson and organizing media events
Build and maintain relationships with editors/reporters, securing promotional interview opportunities
Monitor media coverage, produce comprehensive reports, and participate in crisis communications planning and execution
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience
Plus 6 years of relevant work experience
Proficient in media relations and communications best practices
Exceptional written, editing, and verbal communication skills
Capable of simplifying complex material for various audiences
Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative abilities
Thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects and providing ongoing metrics
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience
Plus 8 years of relevant work experience
