Senior Principal Construction Engineer

Responsibilities
Lead planning and execution of complex facility expansion projects
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
Manage internal engineering teams and external service providers (design firms, contractors, suppliers)
Oversee project budgets, schedules, and documentation to ensure timely and compliant delivery
Conduct constructability reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering
Ensure adherence to GMP, safety, and quality standards throughout project lifecycle
Support commissioning, qualification, and turnover of facilities
Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and regulatory bodies
Drive continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives
Utilize tools such as MS Project, AutoCAD, SAP for project tracking and reporting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred
PMP Certification is a plus
10+ years of experience managing capital projects in regulated industries (medical device, nutrition, pharmaceutical)
Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects (> $2.5MM)
Strong understanding of GMP regulations, construction codes, and validation processes
Experience in contractor selection, procurement, and performance management
Willingness to travel 50–75% within the United States
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
