Jr. Stationary Engineer

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom is seeking a motivated Junior Stationary Engineer to join their Facilities team. This role involves operating, monitoring, adjusting, repairing, and maintaining machinery used for electric power generation and distribution, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Staffing & Recruiting

Responsibilities

Perform daily inspection rounds to monitor equipment, record gauges and meter readings, maintain operational logs, and report abnormal conditions
Regularly clean and maintain plant spaces and assigned equipment
Assist or perform maintenance tasks including oil, coolant, and filter changes; routine servicing of equipment; and additional activities as directed
Safely operate hand and power tools, chain hoists, rigging gear, and measuring devices
Adhere to company procedures and policies, including but not limited to: LOTO, NFPA 70E, equipment start-up/shut-down, facility security, PPE, and lift truck operation
Provide on-call support after qualifying

Required

High school diploma or GED AND Technical/trade school degree or certificate in power/electrical plant maintenance (degree preferred)
Military/Merchant Marine experience in industrial power plant operations
Two years' experience as an industrial power plant operator or facilities technician
Equivalent combination of education and training
Commitment to continuous improvement and ability to contribute suggestions for process enhancements
Self-starter with adaptability and a proactive approach
Strong organizational skills; able to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and procedural accuracy
Effective collaborator with strong interpersonal skills, able to work within a team
Problem-solving skills, including information gathering, analysis, and solution communication
Mechanical aptitude and experience using a variety of tools and machinery
Understanding of equipment operation and interrelations, with troubleshooting capabilities
Strong oral and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management
Proficiency with PCs and software (Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word)
Willingness to work overtime as needed
