Responsibilities

Propose, contribute to and lead R&D projects in power and energy systems

Collaborate with a global team to identify and solve real-world challenges for our customers

Propose and work on novel ideas and concepts for the next generation of power systems

Network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise

Collaborate with external partners including universities, startups, and vendors

Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Qualification

Ph.D. in Electrical EngineeringPower system modelingConstrained optimization theoryMarket based system operationProgramming in PythonProgramming in C++Fluency in English

Required

Ph.D. degree in either Electrical Engineering or ISE/Operation research degree with power system application focus

Power system operation principles and issues

Power system modeling, AC and DC grids, including DER and IBR modeling

Market based system operation

Constrained optimization theory and tools for Linear Programming (LP), mixed integer programming (MIP), Non-Linear Programming (NLP), Non-Linear Mixed Integer Programming (NLMIP)

Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Fluency in common programming languages like Python or C++, Matlab

Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
