They are seeking a skilled Horizontal Directional Driller to join their traveling crew, responsible for operating directional drilling equipment and ensuring safe installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable.

Responsibilities
Locate for Directional Drill for installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable
Ensure the safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities
Operate Directional Drill
Assist in potholing and remediation
Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins
Ability to Read and Comprehend utility locates
Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks, and grounding the machine
Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions
Ability to perform proper reaming and pull-back methods for existing conditions
Oversee laborer's and/or crew members' work and monitor time usage
Communicate with the Supervisor daily to turn in required reports (i.e., Bore logs, vehicle maintenance reports, crew time logs, etc.)
Follows specifications for the job and company policies
Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site
Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work
TRAVEL IS A MUST
Qualification
Required
Possess a valid driver's license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position
A good driving record is required
Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
Class A Commercial Driver's License is REQUIRED
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc
Willing and able to work in all weather conditions
Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly
TRAVEL IS REQUIRED
Preferred
Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry
Knowledge of established Horizontal/Directional Drill Locator/ Operator procedures and techniques
Ability to perform Horizontal/Directional Drill Locator/ Operator procedures and duties
