Responsibilities
Assists with outdoor activities such as mowing lawns; trimming shrubs and trees; landscaping, planting, fertilizing, and spraying lawns, shrubs, flowers, and trees; and removing leaves
Removes snow and ice from county parking lots and sidewalks
Maintains mowers and other small equipment and tools
Performs related work as required
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school or GED
One year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance work
A valid driver's license is required
Demonstrated ability to safely operate small to medium motorized equipment
Must be able to obtain a pesticide applicators license after employment
Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally, and 10-25 lbs. frequently
Ability to operate small equipment, including weed eater, blower, pruning shears, mowers, etc
Ability to service and maintain small equipment, and load and unload equipment
Willingness to work outside year round
Self-motivated and able to complete tasks and projects independently
Knowledge of horticulture, including planting, identification, pruning, and other maintenance of woody and herbaceous ornamentals
Preferred
Experience working with volunteers and serving the public
