ASSOCIATE ACCOUNTING ANALYST

Caltrans District 3 is part of the Department of Transportation, focusing on improving lives and communities through transportation. Government Administration

Responsibilities

Perform the most complex and high-level analytical duties related to Right of Way program
Responsible for analyzing and reviewing reconciliations, reports, supporting accounting documents, funds and coding information
Process Excess Land transactions, Expenditure Adjustment and various types of Right of Way Capital Outlay payments
Participate in activities with the Right of Way Program to enhance business process and working relationships with Headquarters and District staff
Act as a year end coordinator
Perform internal control review and monthly Schedule III Reconciliation
Review and sign claim schedules
Provide coverage for the section during supervisor's absence

Preferred

Knowledge of automated accounting system
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
Knowledge of California laws and procedures related to Accounting
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Ability to handle multiple assignments effectively, efficiently and in a timely manner
Ability to work in team environment
