Required
Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
Experience: One year of transportation engineering experience as a senior level engineer in the California state service
One year of supervisory or managerial experience equivalent in level to a Senior Transportation Planner in the California state service
Two years of civil engineering work at the Associate Engineer level or higher in the California state service
Broad and extensive (more than five years) transportation engineering experience, two years of which are equivalent in responsibility to the senior level engineer in the California state service
Demonstrated experience in effectively leading, supervising, directing, developing and mentoring multi-disciplinary teams
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage performance measures and strategic plans, including establishing goals, objectives, and tasks for a large organization
Demonstrating ability to effectively apply logic and creativity in decision-making, along with strong motivational and negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to manage organizational change and implement innovations within the organization
Demonstrated experience with project management principles and practices, and the ability to oversee and manage a large program
