Career Employment Services Consultant II
The North Carolina Department of Commerce is the state's lead agency for economic, community and workforce development. The Career Employment Services Consultant II will provide information, guidance, and assistance to job seekers and employers in a local career center environment, acting as a liaison between the center and local businesses while developing recruitment strategies and maintaining relationships with employers.

Responsibilities
Provide information, guidance and assistance to customers seeking employment and employers seeking workers through programs administrated by the Department of Commerce/Division of Workforce Solutions
Act as a liaison between the center and local businesses
Identify employer needs, promote job opportunities, and facilitate connections between businesses and potential candidates
Develop recruitment strategies, organize job fairs (hiring events), and conduct outreach to local companies
Maintain relationships with employers to understand their workforce requirements
Conduct interviews, enter information into databases, research job orders, and take job listings from businesses by phone or in person
Cross-train in Career Center services, conduct Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessments (RESEA), and collaborate with workforce partners in an Integrated Services Delivery (ISD) environment to ensure effective service delivery
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in human resource administration, case management, job development and placement, employment counseling, vocational guidance and counseling, social work, vocational rehabilitation, claims analysis, or related public contact work dealing with job applicants and employers in a variety of functions
Associate degree and three years of experience in human resource administration, case management, job development and placement, employment counseling, vocational guidance and counseling, social work, vocational rehabilitation, claims analysis, or related public contact work dealing with job applicants and employers in a variety of functions or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
Ability to build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community organizations, while effectively managing multiple tasks and events such as job fairs and employer outreach initiatives
Ability to work well with diverse populations, understanding the needs of both the employers and job seekers
Ability to communicate orally and in written form effectively with a variety of individuals both internal and external to the organization
Knowledge of job search strategies, resume writing and interview preparation techniques to assist job seekers
Knowledge and experience conducting RESEA appointments
