Supervisory Printing Services Specialist
The US Government Publishing Office is seeking a Supervisory Printing Services Specialist to provide innovative services for the printing, publishing, storage, and distribution of digital content. Responsibilities
Advises and assists Congressional details with technical operating procedures for printing and binding publications following committee style
Coordinates and schedules all congressional products and services as the GPO liaison with Members of Congress, Congressional Staff, Committees, and Support Organizations
Negotiates changes with congressional staff regarding specifications or copy to improve products or reduce costs
Drafts and assists in developing new GPO policy and procedures for approval of senior GPO officials, typically relating to the implementation of changes resulting from congressional action

Required
You must be a current Career or Career Conditional GPO employee to apply
Selectee may be required to pass preemployment requirements prior to appointment
Selectee must undergo a background investigation for a Suitability investigation
Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
To qualify for the Supervisory Printing Services Specialist, PG - 1654 - 13, you must meet the following requirements: To qualify for the 1654 series, you must meet one of the following Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) as listed below: A) Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- journalism, business administration, English composition, commerce, accounting, printing or printing engineering, graphic or commercial art, industrial engineering, or economics
OR B) Experience: Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: 1) Determining specifications for the printing of manuscript, i.e., selection of typography, layout, composition, format, paper stock, and other printer's instructions. 2) Negotiating or administering contracts for procurement of manuscript and illustrations, printing, binding and allied services, or printing stocks (paper, inks, etc.) 3) Managing a printing plant that produces printing either for the government or private industry customers. 4) Performing production control work in a large printing plant. 5) Serving as a sales representative for a wide variety of printing equipment. 6) Analyzing the price and cost of preparation and production of printing. 7) Planning, estimating, and scheduling printing on a full-time basis for a variety of publications. 8) Performing substantive administrative support or policy functions directly related to publishing and printing program management or operations
AND In addition to the above Individual Occupational Requirement above: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-12 grade level in the Federal Service that includes: 1) Managing workloads and setting priorities for the successful processing of high volumes of work in order to ensure satisfaction of customer requirements; and 2) Coordinating and communicating with a variety of customers on printing and binding publications

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university
