Bridge Maintenance Coordinator (Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor (Transportation))

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Bridge Maintenance Coordinator, a key role in the Department of Transportation responsible for overseeing the maintenance of bridge records and scheduling in-house maintenance tasks. The Coordinator will supervise Bridge Maintenance Crews, manage contracts for maintenance projects, and ensure compliance with engineering standards.

Responsibilities

Oversee the management of records, coordinate in-house maintenance schedules, and supervise the work assignments and repairs conducted by the Bridge Maintenance Crews for all structures cataloged within the District
Supervise the preparation of contracts for bridge maintenance tasks carried out by external contractors
Review reports submitted by your team and authorize payrolls associated with the work completed on the designated structures
Monitor County Bridge Maintenance projects and the tasks assigned to the Bridge-On-Demand maintenance contractor, ensuring that all work is inspected both during progress and upon completion to confirm compliance with Department standards, regional practices, and the original scope of work
Design structural repairs, create calculations and sketches, and collaborate with the District Bridge Management Unit to formulate more intricate design plans

Qualification

Civil EngineeringEngineer-in-Training CertificateBridge MaintenanceContract ManagementSupervisory Skills

Required

Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license
You must be able to perform essential job functions
