Traffic Studies Specialist (Traffic Control Specialist)
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Traffic Studies Specialist to enhance the operations of PennDOT by ensuring efficient traffic control systems. In this role, you will analyze data and evaluate engineering recommendations to improve traffic management and safety for the community.

Responsibilities
Analyzing data related to speed limits
Implementation of multi-way stops
Enforcement of turn and truck restrictions
Assessment of street configurations
Establishment of one-way and two-way streets
Conducting studies on passing zones and truck climbing lanes
Evaluating intersection safety
Stopping sight distances
Identifying hazardous walking routes
Carrying out mid-block crosswalk studies
Conducting other investigations aimed at enhancing operational safety within the traffic system
Qualification
Required
One year as a Traffic Control Specialist Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Two years as a Traffic Control Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
One year of experience in traffic control work; and a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, civil engineering, or a closely related field; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training
This particular position requires possession of a valid driver's license
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
