Field Bulletin Engineer

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a leader in remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars. The Field Bulletin Engineer will research, coordinate, develop, and release field bulletins to improve product safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

Work with internal and external customer stakeholders to determine scope, urgency, actions, impacts of field bulletins
Work and balance multiple bulletin assignments
Troubleshoot, analyze, and determine rework direction by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles
Represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific anomalies to GA-ASI
Read and understand engineering drawings, bill of materials, specifications, technical documents, and technical publications
Research all applicable GA and customer databases related to bulletin development and closure (Sharepoint, WindChill, REMIS, SAP, COLTS)
Review bulletins prior to stakeholder review and signature approval
Obtain stakeholder concurrence and approval for bulletin release and closures
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
Perform other duties as assigned
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
Travel and provide on-site support as needed

Required

Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education
Strong technical writing skills – must be able to convey complex technical issues in a clear, concise manner
Ability to work independently
Must be able to effectively work with multi-disciplined technical and non-technical staff
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office is required
Must have thorough database research experience
Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems
Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area; and, lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasks
Able to work extended hours as required
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required

Preferred

Experience working on aircraft (military or commercial) is highly desired
Experience with prior aviation flight and/or aviation maintenance (military or civilian) highly desired
Working knowledge of SharePoint is highly desired
