BUILDING SERVICES TECHNICIAN II - Facilities

Tarrant County College is responsible for maintaining County buildings, and they are seeking a Building Services Technician II. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and various building tasks including HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Plan repairs, building or remodeling projects accordingly. Orders needed supplies
Performs remodeling tasks for County buildings which may include one of the following skill sets being used by the incumbent: painting, carpentry or electrical work
Repairs and maintains HVAC systems and associated building equipment
Assist with moving furniture and office equipment
Sets up furniture in specific configurations for special events
Performs plumbing repairs
Assists and supervises the work of contractors and vendors
Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required

High School diploma or GED
Two (2) full-time years experience in building maintenance operations (Full-time = 2,080 work hours per year)
Working knowledge of commercial building operations, life safety systems, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems
Valid driver's license
Ability to pass a criminal background investigation prior to employment
Ability to perform physical demands of the job including climbing, walking, lifting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, pushing and pulling
Willingness to work overtime, rotating shifts, nights, evenings, weekends and holidays if needed
Must take and pass a pre-placement physical examination
