Electrophysiology Technician

Responsibilities

Prepares for and assists the physician in the testing and/or treatment of patients in the Electrophysiology Lab procedures
Performs as a monitor tech and scrub tech; maintaining sterile technique
Performs/reviews baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers and medications during Electrophysiology laboratory procedures, provides patient care and administers drugs commonly used in the EP lab as directed by a qualified physician
Proficient in basic cardiac life support
Proficient in the operation and maintenance, as specific by the manufacturer, of all diagnostic and therapeutic EP equipment used for procedures

Required

Graduate of an accredited school of cardiovascular or radiographic technology or equivalent education/experience
Washington Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification upon hire
Washington Radiologic Technologist upon hire
National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire
National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association upon hire
6 months Cardiac internship during education
EP experience in a technical capacity

Preferred

Completion of formal training from an AMA-approved Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
2 years of prior experience in a cardiovascular laboratory preferred
