The University of Miami is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine Physician for outpatient primary care on a per diem basis. The role focuses on managing adult patients' preventive care, chronic disease management, and treatment of acute conditions in a flexible clinic setting.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care to adults (18+ years) in an outpatient clinic setting

Perform routine health screenings, physical exams, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions

Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with specialists when needed

Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests

Utilize EMR to document visits accurately and in a timely manner

Educate patients on preventive care, health maintenance, and self-management of chronic conditions

Collaborate with nurses, medical assistants, care coordinators, and administrative staff to optimize patient care

Adhere to clinic policies, evidence-based practice guidelines, and quality initiatives

Provide coverage during provider absences, high-volume periods, or for specific clinic days as scheduled

Qualification

Board Certified in Internal MedicineMDDO degreeValid medical license in FloridaEMR systemsCommunication skillsOrganizational skills

Required

MD or DO from an accredited medical school

Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine

Valid, unrestricted medical license in Florida

Current DEA registration and state-controlled substance license (if applicable)

Commitment to providing equitable, patient-centered care

Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred

Experience with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)

Availability for coverage during provider PTO, sick leave, or increased patient demand
