Traffic Studies Engineer (Civil Engineer (Transportation))

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a talented Civil Engineer specializing in Transportation to join PennDOT District 6-0. In this role, you will analyze and manage traffic studies and provide engineering recommendations to enhance transportation infrastructure safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Analyzing factors related to speed limits
The implementation of multi-way stops
The enforcement of turn and truck restrictions
Establishment of one-way and two-way street configurations
Conducting studies on passing zones and truck climbing lanes
Assessing intersection and stopping sight distances
Identifying hazardous walking routes
Performing mid-block crosswalk studies
Other investigations aimed at enhancing operational safety

Qualification

Civil EngineeringTraffic EngineeringEngineer-in-Training CertificateBachelor's Degree in Civil EngineeringAttention to Detail

Required

Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license
You must be able to perform essential job functions
