Responsibilities
Specializing on the WAN, the engineer will gather requirements, develop innovative solutions, prototype them in a physical and emulated lab environment, pilot it in production, document and operationalize the chosen solution
Resolve live site issues by troubleshooting complex network components and features
Lead customer-facing and critical troubleshooting efforts under time sensitive situations
Writing drivers and abstraction layer for deploying new routing features across the network, enabling fast deployment and quality operations
Support innovation and cost management by developing new ideas for network systems and tools that meet customer and/or business needs
Capacity Planning and Performance Optimization Analyze dashboards, metrics, and traffic patterns across network infrastructures to assess current performance and anticipate future capacity needs
Qualification
Required
Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred

3+ years experience delivering network designs into production and experience with live site accountability for a network
1+ year(s) experience developing quality management programs
