Responsibilities
Maintain an organized unit; perform light housekeeping functions to maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area, adhering to Universal/Standard precautions
Promotes, monitors, and maintains a safe clean environment
Consistently know the coming and going of patients and assisting with the electronic push/pull of patients in the computer system
Be available at the nurse’s station to answer telephone calls and direct the phone calls as necessary and always consistently practice excellent telephone etiquette
Effectively communicate needs of the department by acknowledging patients, visitors, and healthcare providers upon arrival to the unit
Ensures stationary supplies are ordered for the unit and available
Qualification
Required
Training or equivalent experience in general clerical functions
CPR Certification Required
Preferred
Previous Medical/clerical Experience Preferred
