Responsibilities
Assist in hiring, contracting, and managing design consultants for the preparation of design criteria, specifications, plans, etc
Perform a variety of field surveys, investigations, and data compilations
Provide technical and administrative assistance to other divisions
Perform reviews of bridge, roadway, utility, commercial site plan, residential subdivision, and other engineering designs
Confer with management to inform them about projects and gain their support
Make recommendations to assist management
Respond to citizen complaints and requests
Attend site visits and various group meetings
Represent the Engineering Department at various City meetings
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Oklahoma State Professional Engineer License
5 years of related experience and/or training
4 years of management experience
Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Flexibility to multitask
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
Preferred
Roadway design experience
Bridge design experience
