Senior Project Manager - Water Resources - General Contractor

The Senior Project Manager will oversee project management direction, ensuring compliance, client satisfaction, and operational excellence while mentoring project engineers and managing relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Responsibilities
Operates as a bid lead with actual cost information to enhance and increase the accuracy of future bids
Demonstrates the ability to manage projects of large scale and volume, and/or multiple projects at one time
Demonstrates the ability to Win Work by participating in Business Development efforts, project proposal preparation, project interviews, and other project pursuit efforts
Manages critical subcontractors
Negotiates the largest subcontracts and purchase agreements including terms and conditions
Manages a project-dedicated staff and establishes roles and expectations for each member
Initiates and maintains relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
Creates and manages a schedule of values and pay applications
Assists in creating and carrying out a job-specific safety plan
Ensures a quality control plan is developed and implemented
Manages the procurement process including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts
Prepares and maintains accurate financial forecasting with an emphasis on labor, equipment, and cash flow
Manages personnel development
Creates and manages the project schedule (cost and resource loaded as required)
Participates in all preconstruction services, including assisting Risk Management with prequalification and SDI procedures
Complete annual and 90-day performance reviews for Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers with input from RM/DO
Qualification
Required
4-year BS degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience
10-15 years of construction experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to a prescribed style and format
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook is required
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Motor Vehicle report required
Preferred
Member of a professional organization helpful, officer position preferred
Member of a community organization is helpful
Participate in career fairs and recruitment
Keep up with current technology (BIM, 3D Modelling, Pipe Detailing, Etc.)
LEED certification is a plus
PE certification is a plus
ICRA/Healthcare Construction Certificates are a plus
Primavera/Oracle scheduling, Sage Timberline, AutoCAD, and Viewpoint are a plus
