Senior LevelBaylor University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Experimental High Energy Physics to join their research group. The successful candidate will participate in the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at the Large Hadron Collider and carry out novel physics analyses, contributing to various research projects and upgrades.

Responsibilities
Assist PI in planning, organizing, and carrying out research projects
Prepare scientific articles for publication
Present publications and research results at conferences and workshops
Attend training as required for the job
Work on other projects assigned by the PI
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in experimental high energy physics
Research experience in experimental high energy physics
Extensive programming experience in C++
Extensive programming experience in Python
Ability to carry out novel physics analyses in the area of effective field theory
Contribute to the Phase 2 upgrade of the endcap calorimeter
Development of novel calorimetry
Operation of the CMS detector
Future detector upgrades
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Preferred
Some experience in machine learning techniques
