Resident Assistant
U.S.VETS is dedicated to ending homelessness and supporting veterans. The Resident Assistant plays a crucial role in providing basic residential services and maintaining a therapeutic environment for clients at the facility.

Responsibilities
Assists in the delivery of basic services (such as shelter, food, hygiene, etc.) to veterans served at the facility
Ensures harmonious atmosphere at the facility by maintaining communication with clinical staff and maintaining a therapeutic community environment
Helps organize and deliver daily client services and support functions
Assists in the delivery/handling of client mail
Assists clients to maximize quality of living in the facility including assistance in both the move-in and move-out from the facility
Responsible for the preventing or de-escalating any verbal and physical altercations at the facility including submitting Incident Reports to the Lead Resident Assistant and Program Manager concerning these events
Responsible for addressing client issues timely to ensure the non-interruption of services
Conveying needs to the Lead Resident Assistant to maintain supply inventory of supplies and ensures proper storage
Assists with maintenance and upkeep of the facility and ensures readiness for inspections
Assists in the implementation of toxicology testing to promote a sober environment
Responsible for implementation of all safety and emergency procedures
Assist with bed checks, inspections of rooms to ensure a clean, safe and hazardless environment
Conducts various administrative duties to include documentation of bed check, inspections, incident reports, client logs, etc
Responsible for attending to all administration needs related to tracking residential services provided at the facility
Facilitate routine daily living activities for clients
Adheres to the site work order procedure
Other duties as assigned. Staff who have a valid drivers license and meet company insurance requirements may be requested to complete a provided driver training course and drive company vehicles for work-related activities to include client transportation
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to remain composed in high-stress situations and apply sound judgment
Commitment to fostering a safe, sober, and respectful environment
Basic computer literacy
Preferred
Experience working with individuals in recovery, or similar populations preferred
Valid driver's license preferred (company vehicle use may require additional training and insurance eligibility)
