Travel Technician with Sign-On Bonus Available

Responsibilities
Use measurement tools, electronics troubleshooting, and computer operation for railroad track inspection operations
Interpret railroad documents to derive train speed information
Review and analyze track measurement data for reporting
Operate hi-rail commercial motor vehicles
Perform vehicle maintenance for rail survey cars and hi-rail vehicles
Conduct regular housekeeping duties for safety and sanitation aboard government-owned survey vehicles
Qualification
Required
This position requires the successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation. Qualified applicants must have resided in the United States for at least three (3) of the past five (5) years for this requirement
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical field involving troubleshooting and problem resolution, or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 1 year of experience
Experience reading electrical or electronic schematics and wiring diagrams
Experience conducting equipment/machinery inspections (periodic maintenance inspections, preventive maintenance) and equipment upkeep
Experience with workplace safety programs
Proficiency with computer applications such as MS Word; Excel; PowerPoint; and Outlook
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Operating System; transferring files on a network, copying, and pasting
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with tape measure and similar measuring tools
Functional knowledge of mathematics and fraction measurements
Valid Driver's License
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Transportation Public Trust
Preferred
Experience with quality management/assurance program
Railroad environment/industry experience
Hydraulics maintenance/troubleshooting
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
Ultrasonic Testing (NDT, UT) in the railroad inspection industry, preferred
Pneumatic brake systems
Welding & fabrication
Diesel engine mechanics
Soldering and cable assembly
CPR/First Aid certifications
Aptitude for proficiency with software applications aboard track measurement survey vehicles, including ENSCO's proprietary applications
Familiarity with 49 CFR parts 213, 214, 229 & 238
Valid Commercial Driver's License, CDL Class B or greater
