Responsibilities

Lead the market intelligence function supporting Walmart’s offsite energy strategy, with a focus on TRE procurement and offsite renewables
Oversee the development of long-term load and price forecasts, and production cost models
Provide strategic insights into wholesale price formation, capacity markets, renewable growth, storage, and transmission dynamics
Guide the integration of market outlooks into TRE hedging strategies, vPPA origination, and tax-oriented investments
Build market entry frameworks for assessing new geographic or market opportunities for TRE and vPPAs (e.g., PJM capacity markets, ERCOT ancillary services, CAISO storage growth)
Develop portfolio stress tests to evaluate resilience of Walmart’s energy portfolio under different economic, commodity, and policy regimes
Prepare and deliver executive-level insights for leadership meetings
Partner with Origination, Trading, Finance, and Analytics to align forecasts with Walmart’s portfolio strategy and investment decisions

Required

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 5 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field
Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field
Option 3: 7 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field
2 years' supervisory experience

Preferred

Data science, data analysis, statistics, or related field
PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics
Related industry experience (for example, retail, merchandising, healthcare, eCommerce)
Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (for example, SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, or Tableau)
Supervisory experience
