Responsibilities
Leads all project management tasks such as developing budgets and scopes, client billings, client communications, submittal reviews, contract reviews, and proposal development
Partners with Principals and Associates to ensure effective execution of multiple projects
Serves as a technical resource for clients and project staff; provides guidance and expertise to solve complex challenges
Develops complete and accurate submittals that require minimal edits or revisions
Reviews deliverables from staff and mid-level employees such as field reports, calculations, analyses, etc
Mentors junior staff relative to technical skills, consulting best practices, etc
Leads business-development activities such as identifying potential new clients, attending conferences or professional association meetings, etc
Completes geotechnical/structural engineering analyses and calculations
Prepares deliverables such as memos and reports and provides quality assurance/control support
Ensures that deliverables are submitted to the client with partnership from the Principal or Associate in a timely manner
Produces typical geo-structural designs such as temporary excavation support, retaining wall, soil nail wall, slurry wall, slope stability, shallow and deep foundation, construction dewatering, work trestle, temporary shoring, etc
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in Civil Engineering required
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required
At least two years of project management experience
PE license required
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification
Professional-level verbal and written communication skills are a must
Valid driver's license required
Must be able to engage in Site Visits and travel as required to support work
Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities and do heavy work including exerting up to 50 pounds of force on occasion
Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged sitting and view of a monitor/screen
Ability to travel for short-term and long-term assignments as needed
Preferred
Master's in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering preferred
