Principal Product Manager: Cost Engineering
True ValueHub, Inc. is an AI-native direct material sourcing solution for discrete manufacturers. They are looking for a Principal Product Manager to own and drive their Cost Engineering module, which helps manufacturers understand and optimize part costs while enabling collaboration between design engineering and procurement teams.
Responsibilities
Define and drive the product roadmap for the Cost Engineering module
Prioritize ruthlessly based on customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility
Balance near-term customer needs with long-term platform scalability
Conduct customer interviews, discovery calls, and on-site visits to understand pain points, workflows, and unmet needs
Translate customer insights into clear product requirements and user stories
Serve as the voice of the customer internally ensuring we're solving real problems, not hypothetical ones
Partner with engineering to deliver high-quality releases on time
Work with UI/UX to create intuitive, user-friendly experiences for both procurement and engineering users
Align with sales, customer success, and marketing to support go-to-market efforts and gather feedback from the field
Define clear success metrics and track product performance post-launch
Run sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release coordination
Communicate progress, trade-offs, and decisions clearly to stakeholders at all levels
Identify opportunities to expand the module's capabilities—whether through new features, integrations, or AI/ML enhancements
Stay close to market trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving customer needs in discrete manufacturing
Qualification
Required
8+ years of product management experience, with a strong track record of owning and scaling B2B SaaS products
Deep domain expertise in discrete manufacturing ideally with direct experience in cost engineering, procurement, sourcing, or engineering/PLM workflows
Experience working with both technical and business stakeholders, and the ability to bridge the gap between them
Strong business and customer orientation you start with the problem, not the solution
Ability to translate complex, ambiguous customer needs into clear product direction
Excellent communication skills written, verbal, and visual. You can present to executives and whiteboard with engineers with equal ease
Comfort with data you use metrics to inform decisions and measure success
Technical fluency you don't need to write code, but you can engage deeply with engineers on architecture, data models, and trade-offs
Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities
Bias toward action you move quickly, learn fast, and iterate
Collaborative and low-ego you build trust across teams and bring people along
Curious and customer-obsessed you dig until you understand the real problem
Engineering degree required (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field)
Preferred
Startup experience is highly desirable
MBA or advanced degree is a plus, but not required
